Drawings not lining up correctly on various timeframes
I'm having an issue where I am drawing out my different levels/channels, etc., but they do not line up at all. For example, I just added this channel to the 60 min. chart, and look how it carries over to the 15 min. chart. The same thing happens when going down to 5 min. and 3 min. charts.
I have not experienced this issue with any other platform so I'm not sure what's going on. Please advise.Tags: None

Hello koop1975,
Thank you for your post!
I've recorded a short video demonstration below with two charts and a Trend Channel set to be a Global Drawing Object:As you can see in the video, my Trend Channel does seem to keep the same settings/position on each variation of the chart. To test, does the same occur if you open a new Workspace via Workspaces > new > you can name this "Test" and remove it later. Then in this Test workspace, can you please go to New > Chart and open either one or two charts like in my example (please ensure there are no templates or Trading Hours applied to either chart). Please then attempt the same steps as in my video > apply a Trend Channel to an area on one chart > then right-click on the Trend Channel > Properties > Change the Attach To to All Charts.
Does this resolve or does it continue?
Please let me know the results of this test, thank you!Kennedy M.NinjaTrader Customer Service

This seems to be an limitation or an issue with NT8, and needs attention from the tech team. Channels and trendline of long term are important Resistance and support levels in Day trading, I need to use a separate charting tool to monitor these because of NT8's limitation.
Currently, in other charting platforms, channels drawn on a long-term timeframe display correctly even when loading only a limited amount of recent data (e.g., 1-day 5-minute data). However, in NT8, for the same channel to appear correctly on a lower timeframe (e.g., 1-minute chart), I need to load the full historical data of the long-term timeframe (e.g., 300 days of 1-minute data). This requirement is resource-intensive, causes unnecessary lag, and makes the platform slower. It would be beneficial if NT8 could handle trendlines and channels more efficiently, ensuring they are displayed correctly without needing to load excessive amounts of historical data.
PFA Screenshot of the charting in Thinkorswim, Where I am able to use my channels drawn on a long term chart correctly on a 5 Min chart, even though I have loaded ONLY 1 Day data, NOT all the 300 Days.
Also PFA screenshot of NT8( Comparison of Channels with and without loading all the days data)
