Moving strategies into sub-folder using Strategy Builder

    Hi,

I have multiple custom strategies which I'd like to organise into sub-folders within the root 'Strategies' folder.

I'm able to move unlocked strategies but for those which I have created using the Strategy Builder I am only able to move the strategy if I 'SaveAs' into the sub-folder then delete the strategy in the root folder.

Additionally, when I do move the strategies and look for the strategies in the StrategyAnalyzer they are not listed in the same way as NinjaScript Explorer i.e if all strategies are in sub-folders in NinjaScript Explorer not all of them are displayed in the sub-folder in the StrategyAnalyzer drop down selection menu.

Is there a way to simply move the strategies?

    Thanks,

    Neil

    Hello burtoninlondon,

Using folders for strategy builder scripts is not currently supported. You would need to unlock the code so that you can use the NinjaScript editor to manage the file if you wanted to place it in a folder.

I see in the current .27 release that using SaveAs won't allow the strategy to be saved in a sub folder which would be the expected action. The strategy builder is exclusively used to manage strategy builder strategies so they would not be able to be moved into sub folders using the NinjaScript editor.

The strategy analyzer does show folders but only for manually coded scripts, strategy builder scripts should always appear at the root level.

Also keep in mind that any manually coded strategy would need to be moved to the sub folder using the NinjaScript editor. If you manually move files to a sub folder using windows that will not perform the correct actions to actually place the file in the folder. The NinjaScript editor is the only correct way to make folders/ move files into folders or create new files in folders.
