Difference between Lifetime License and Multi Broker Lifetime License?

    Hello,

I'm looking for a webpage that explains the difference and not finding anything on the NT website or recent posts. I found a forum post from 5 years ago regarding NT7 saying something about connection technology, which didn't make sense to me.

Can anyone provide a useful link or reply about this? [Edit: Today] Tomorrow is the last day for the current sale to upgrade my lifetime license to a multi broker one.

Along that line, I bought a lifetime license a few years ago. A few months ago, I began trading with a prop firm (Apex Trader Funding) that uses Rithmic. I am able to trade both in my NT Brokerage account and their Rithmic account(s) at the same time. So, do I have a multi-broker license? I don't think so. In looking at the About window, it says, "License type: Regular" with expiration in 2098!

If I want to trade Forex (probably Forex.com), in addition to futures, will a multi-broker license be required?

    Thanks,
    Matt

    Hello Matt,

    Thank you for your inquiry.

From what you describe, you do not have a Multi Brokey key. Instead, you have a Single Broker key that is enabled with NinjaTrader Brokerage.

A Multi Broker key would be required if you want to trade multiple brokers like Interactive Brokers, TD Ameritrade, and NinjaTrader Brokerage all at the same time. However, it is not required if you are using a prop firm like Apex and NinjaTrader Brokerage at the same time because we have a mutual agreement with them that allows access to their account using our standard Single Broker key when it is enabled for NinjaTrader Brokerage specifically. The same is true for Forex.com and FXCM, so long as you have valid, NinjaTrader enabled account for either broker.

Basically, a Multi Broker key allows you access to every single connection API that we support, where as a Single Broker only allows access to one (unless it is enabled for NinjaTrader Brokerage, in which case we throw in a couple of bonus connections so that you can connect to a few other brokers that we have agreement with).

      Hello Zachary,

Thank you for the useful information! I'll stick with what I have for now.

      Kind regards,
