#Timko #FMtrader with you on that hence my #FightBack #ZeroTolerance (well aware makes no difference just fed up with NT seemingly getting away with it, makes me feel better ;-)

Noticeable that everyone that has stepped in to help out here are each battle-weary veteran victims of NinjaAbuse

    To recap this Release:
Relocate installation directory and don’t tidy up the loose ends. This is SW Dev 101. At the very least, if this is impossible to do programmatically step-by-step instructions per hedge in Release Notes. But no, hours cleaning up their mess

Change to SQLite - problems writing to db file: recreate all your customs trading hours templates & re-attach to instruments. Hours. Again, like #Lancer - no forewarning, you’re out of commission meantime

CME change to Equity Rollover Dates - Ninja only did ES on their servers. More carnage, frustrated customers, no response from Support - they only fessed-up to it when I made it blazingly obvious that is what they had done

Customer asked if could Roll Positions automatically - Support: No. I’d noticed it’s a new Feature in 27
Hey, If I were to place a trade on GC and I expect to hold it until let's say September 2023, how would I go about doing so? Can I enter on the current August 2022 contracts, and keep rolling them over prior to expiration every few months until September 2023? Also, how do I roll over my contacts while I'm in a position. Am

But what does that tell you about Ninja management/leadership? When they do a major update with ‘fundamental’ architecture changes, and introduction of new Features, there is no leadership in bringing together Development and Support to manage that rollout. And Support staff aren’t sufficiently interested to familiarise themselves with new Features (of which there are pitifully few) for a twice yearly event.

And don’t get me started on the Livestream fiasco

WHY no reply from Ninja Support here

Really and it does not matter how and when NT support gets around to chiming in as actions or rather lack of speak much louder than what they can reply.
Meaning a whole week and not one response in this thread by a member of support. In my ol book that speaks volumes.

#Sonia0101 - from off-Forum assistance/PM’s with #Hedgeplay who kindly stepped in to asssist #Lancer in the absence of Support:

Iirc you are in this pickle already I.e. updated & broken
          - if you are able, restore a backup
          - if you have any 3rd-party Vendor-sealed .dlls, check with Vendor whether or not v27 64-bit installation location will require an update to their product
          - if you don’t have 3rd-party locked .dlls but do have open-source producing arrows of the type reported by #Lancer you should be able to fix by following #Hedge’s instructions, copying your 32bit \Docs\Ninjatrader 8 folder to same location 64bit path, running v27 installer and then you should not have problems with workspaces, templates, indicators not working/having to recreate.

Can’t vouch for it myself yet, but that is my understanding.

          Hope this helps

            Hello Lancer,

The reference errors to system assemblies may be due to the references in the config having been added manually to a direct location.

By default, these should use '*ProgramFiles*\NinjaTrader 8\bin\...' which would automatically point to the new location of the installation directory, wherever this may be located.

NinjaTrader 8.0.27.0 has discontinued the 32-bit version. Due to this, the installation directory is now in 'Program Files' instead of 'Program Files (x86)'.
Below is a link to the release notes.

Please send an email to platformsupport [at] ninjatrader [dot] com, and I would be happy to revert the configuration file system references back to the default settings.

Note, that hard setting to a new location without the environment variables would cause this behavior in the future, should the installation directory be different (either manually by choosing another location or due to a system change).

Regarding the workspace, keep the workspace in it's current state, and do not save other this, so that the instance information is still in the workspace once the compile errors are worked out and the addons are once again ready. Use a blank workspace to test adding the indicator to a chart once the compile errors are resolved.

Regarding the path to existing indicators, if these are 3rd party they should be located in Documents\NinjaTrader 8\bin\Custom, which should not change when updating to release .27.0.

Once the compile errors are corrected, if there are specific indicators that are still unable to load, we would need to report these to the vendor and work with the vendor to make any necessary changes to for compliance with any code breaking changes.

There are code breaking changes noted in the release notes, for any scripts that are using unsupported code to access the SQL Database.

            To the community,

Regarding comments about resisting the NinjaTrader staff and general encouragement of noncompliance and not having tolerance:

Please remember that the development team are people and as new features or necessary system changes for new technology are implemented, there are instances where unintended and unexpected behavior are able to find a way through the quality assurance process. Without the process of reporting these items to our support staff, who create reports to our development, these items are not able to get corrected.

We kindly ask for patience, and for civility for all members on the forum including support staff, development team, and all community members who without, NinjaTrader would not be possible.
