Backtesting the ES

Hello,

is it possible to subscribe to kinetick for 1 month, download all the ES data i need and slowly backtest? (replay multiple timeframes at once)
Would the ES data be continuous too?

sorry if it's obvious, a bit new to the replay function

Thank you for your post!

Historical Data may be downloaded in bulk from any Data Provider you are connected to (so long as they support the data and instruments you are selecting) from the Tools > Historical Data > Load window. You may confirm any data you have downloaded from the 'Edit' tab of that window as well.

Hi Kennedy,

I've donwloaded the ES 03-20 data from Jan 2020 to Mar 2020.
my question now is how do I get it to load up on the charts? I'm backtesting manually.
I looked at the Backtesting a Strategy article, but that seems to point towards strategy builder and not when i'm doing it manually.

Hello Tabalomaloma,

To replay in the Playback connection, you will need to ensure you have historical tick data for the instrument in question (minute and daily data cannot be used).

On the Playback controller, you will want to select Historical. On your chart, you will want to ensure that you are viewing the ES 03-20 contract.

Tip from the help guide: Should you be using the Playback for testing a NinjaScript strategy, please be sure the chart you apply the strategy onto has bars populating it prior to the start time of your replay.
