Not able to load historical data (from 2004 and earlier) on IQFeed

    Hi

Im trying to load just daily historical data for ES or NQ - (or any symbol) in ninja trader - from 2004 and earlier.

I can see the data on the App IQfeed Chart - that comes with IQfeed.

I have connected Ninja Trader to IQFeed - and I can load current/newer data on the susual chart in Ninja Trader - from IQFeed = the connection is working.

So why can i not see/load the older data?

I asked IQFeed support - and they asked me to ask NInja Trader support.

    Thanks
    Karsten

    Hello KarstenKafl,
    Thank you for your post.

More than likely 2004 is the farthest back you can go within the NinjaTrader Platform for those instruments. If the data does not increase that is all the data that is available from the servers.

Please don't hestiate to reach out if you have any addtional questions on this matter.

      hi Adrian

so just so i understand - i wrote this:
I can see the data on the App IQfeed Chart - that comes with IQfeed.

this means - that i can load and see the data clearly on the app - that iqfeed provides. = i have paid for the data to be avilabele.
In the IQfeed app i can load data back to 1987 i believe . so,,,
Does this mean that Ninja Trader does not work with data before 2005? or what is going on?

So if you wish to adress a big issue that IQfeed claims that they can show data back to 1987 - which i see they have - and i can load - but they can not provide it to Ninja Trader- then i suggest that you stop the false claims from IQFeed?

Please give me a "real" answer - since the aboce makes no sense.

      Thanks-
      Karsten

More info - when i try to load the ES continues futures - i load by the usual ES 12-22

I can then go back - and load names back to ES 12-05.
If i tell it to load ES 12-04 - then it tells me "invalid instrument. Please select different...."

So the instrument naming aparently is not setup in Ninja Trader to handle those before 2005?

Same thing is for NQ. Is there a way that i can go and manually create a new ES/NQ - and load in the same way - but with the data that i choose?

this was the answer ES ##-##. To load data further back than 2004 - you aparently need to enter ##-## instead of just using the latest ES 12-22

            Hello KarstenKafl,
            Thank you for your responses.

Yes, apologies on this. The confusion comes from 2005 being the farthest back that NinjaTrader's database has in contract rollovers for ES, putting in ##-## is a workaround since technically this is the symbol for a 'continuous contract'. This allowed you to pull data further back than 2005 from the IQFeed.

Let us know if we may be of further assistance.
