I'm using NT8 with IB TWS platform build 981 3d (which was released in October 2021). I wanted to ask if anyone knows how many years can I use build 981 3d before it stops working due to IB forcing me to upgrade to another newer TWS build? Just a rough estimate in years (or months) would be great. Thank you in advance for any help or guidance. Regards, rocket.

Yes, that's no longer the supported version. If it works for you, that's great but we wouldn't be able to provide any support should any issues or errors arise since the current build that we support is 10.16.1k. In addition, we never have set-in-stone dates for specific versions of TWS that we are compatible with but we only provide support for clients that are using the currently compatible version.
