    Previous candles not displayed for tick timeframes. Today's data not loading for TSLA

    Hi. I am evaluating NT8 using the Sim101 account connected to my broker TD Ameritrade. I'm struggling with a few issues.
    • Real time data feed from TD Ameritrade works for APPL, NFLX, etc. Does not appear to work for TSLA. No data for current day appears for TSLA for any timeframe.
    • Timeframe Tick 100 (or any Tick timeframe). Screen does not populate with previous candles. Only the current candle and forward are displayed. Also, there does not appear to be a tick counter so you cannot tell when the current candle is about to close.
    • Options Chain works for APPL, NFLX, etc. Does not appear to work for TSLA. "Unhandled exception: Trying to add more than one call options for the same strike"

    Thank you for the message.

    When using TD Ameritrade as the Market Data provider in NinjaTrader, there are a few things to be aware of.
    • TD Ameritrade does not provide Historical Tick Data.
      • This is why the Historical Tick chart will not load in.
      • It only provides the Real-time market data so that is why it starts plotting from the moment you create the chart
    • TD Ameritrade provides Filtered or Snapshot data through the API to NinjaTrader
      • This means the values for the real-time data will possibly not line up with the Historical values as the connection is filtering the data and providing it to NinjaTrader it Packets/snapshots.
      • This is a limitation of the TD Ameritrade connection only, this is not experienced for any of the other connections.

    As for the error message appearing when you open TSLA on the Options Chain, this has already been reported to our development team and are currently looking into the matter further.
    • To aid in their investigation, please use the steps below to send us your Log, Trace, Database, Template, and Workspace files so we may provide them to the development team as further information and evidence of this error.
      • Go to the Control Center > Help > Email Support
      • Select: Platform Technical Support
      • Enter the subject as: Clayton ATTN 03482625"
      • Include any additional information in the Body as desired
      • Expand the "Other files" section and check the box next to:
        • Log and trace files
        • Workspace files and UI settings
        • Template files
        • Database files
        • Chart data
    Please let us know if we may provide any further assistance.

      Thank you. I did have one question you may not have noticed. I also cannot get any current data to load of TSLA (the regular stock shares). I can only see yesterday and previous days' data. Not sure if that has been reported. Today's data is just blank, for every timeframe 1min, 5min, 1hr. But other equities load with no problem.

        I would like to take a look at your log and trace files to see if there is any further information as to why TSLA isn't showing any real-time market data.

        Please use the steps below to send us your log and Trace files directly so we may look into this behavior further.
        • Go to the Control Center > Help > Email Support
