Historical Data Ticks

Hi all,

I need to backtest a strategy by range bars [16]. so I download Historical Data by Ticks / Last.
I would like to backtest at least 2 years in Strategy Analyzer but the historical data tool only downloads ticks data until October 20, 2021.

I tried in several ways changing the contracts and the dates. Both Historical data and Strategy Analyzer, shows data from october 2021 to today, October 17 2022 ,
and I need to go further back in time, at least October 2021

Thanks for your post.

The amount of historical Tick data you could download for backtesting is determined by your data provider.

Please see the available historical data from the NinjaTrader servers below.

Tick data: up to 1 year of historical data would be available. However, some instruments may go back further.

Minute data: virtually never deleted, goes back to 2006 (Forex goes back to late 2008).

Daily data: virtually never deleted, goes back to 2009. Forex data varies per instrument. Index data goes back to 2011.

Market Replay data: deleted after 90 days.

So 1 year ago is my limit.

Maybe I could use the Import function with data from a third party data provider right?
If the answer is yes, could you tell me a possible data provider?

Thanks for your note.

Yes, that is correct. You would be limited to downloading up to 1 year of historical Tick data from the NinjaTrader servers.

It could be possible to import historical tick data from another provider if you wish to backtest on more than 1 year of historical tick data. I suggest doing a quick Google search for third-party data providers that offer more than 1 year of historical tick data.
