    Several error messages license key and ninja script error

    Hi,

    Iīm getting several error messages: First, when starting up, NT canīt validate my license. That generates a 2nd error message, that a certain indicator canīt be used. When I try to insert a new script, I get another error message, that a script has an error. When checking the scripts, I get a list of scripts that arenīt there.

    What can I do?

    Thank you for your note.

    The first message regarding your License Key, this error most commonly occurs when NinjaTrader is unable to communicate with the servers due to it being blocked by another program, or there is an issue in the path between your computer and the appropriate servers.

    Please check for software such as (corporate) firewalls, spyware and anti-virus software that could be blocking NinjaTrader. In some cases the modem/router has built-in software that prevents the connection to be established.

    To resolve this, I recommend the following steps (test for the issue after each step):
    • Restart your modem and (if applicable) router
    • Restart your PC
    • Also, ensure that your computer is not turning off your Network Adapter to conserve power:
      • Restart NinjaTrader
      • Right-click on your Start button
      • Select 'Device Manager'
      • Expand 'Network Adapters'
      • Right-click on your Network Adapter and select Properties > Power Management
      • Uncheck 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' option
      • Click 'OK' to save the changes
      • Do this for all Network Adapters
    • Clear your DNS
    • If you are not already and the option is available to you, connect to the internet using an ethernet cable. Wireless connections are significantly more unreliable.
    • Ensure exceptions have been added into any firewall/antivirus/backup programs for the Documents > "NinjaTrader 8" folder.
    • If the above steps do not help, contact your ISP and let them know you are experiencing a highly unstable connection. An issue of connectivity may exist on their end.
    ​Then inregards to your compile errors please see the resolutions below:

    CS0006 - Explanation of Cause
    This error is caused when a .dll file is being referenced that NinjaTrader is unable to find.
    Steps to Resolve
    1. Right-click within the NinjaScript Editor window and select "References".
    2. Locate and select the reference to the .dll file mentioned in the Error.
    3. Click "remove" to remove the reference.
    4. Click "OK" and recompile.

    CS0246 - Explanation of Cause

    This error is caused when NinjaTrader is searching for a reference to a .dll file, and the reference does not exist.
    Steps to Resolve
    1. Right-click within the NinjaScript Editor window and select "References".
    2. Click "Add".
    3. Locate the .dll file for the file mentioned in the error.
    4. Click "Open" to add the reference.
    5. Click "OK" and recompile.

    CS0234 - Explanation of Cause

    This error indicates that a system indicator is missing from the NinjaTrader 8 -> bin -> Custom -> Indicator folder, or a corrupt file is currently present.
    Steps to Resolve
    1. Shut down NinjaTrader
    2. Navigate to Add/Remove Programs within the user's PC's Control Panel.
    3. Click "NinjaTrader 8" in the list of installed programs to select it.
    4. Click "Repair".
    5. Finally, restart NinjaTrader and recompile.
