open trades on opposite direction on same time and same instrument

can I have open trades on opposite direction on same time and same instrument?

example.

GC market buy (keep open) then GC market sell (keep open). can I have both direction trades remain open on same time?

is this possible?

Thank you for your reply.

No. If you try to go long and short on the same instrument and account combination at the same time, the entries would cancel themselves out and the account would be in a flat position. This would be considered a wash trade and would not be allowed.

Further, NinjaTrader does not support hedging.
