Erroneous price execution
I have been using Ninja for 8 years and have never experienced this before. In my sim accounts, market orders are delayed then cancelled for "no market data" or simply cancelled. When executed, the price can be 7-10 points away from market causing an immmediate stop or, when I exit at a pre-determind target, the actual exit can be 25 pts away!!!! WTF? Look at the attached screen shot. The exit price shoudl have been around 13888 but the platform exited at 13913. How is this possible. What settings have I triggered. Note-there were no exiting orders in the queue. Also, I have delted Ninja from my computer and re-installed twice. Anyone?Tags: None

Hello salvo,
Please note that buy orders are executed at the ask price (sell orders execute at the bid price). Charts use the last traded price by default and not the bid or ask price.
Can you please create a new chart for the NQ 12-22 and set 'Price based on' to Ask in the Data Series menu. Do the price bars now justify the execution of the buy orders at 11913.50 and 11913.75?
Could it be the NQ 12-22 was not very volatile when you experience delayed/cancelled market orders?
In addition, to what broker/data feed do you connect in the NinjaTrader platform?

NinjaTrader must have received an ask price of 11913.50 and 11913.75 in realtime for the orders execute at that price. If you create a 1 Minute chart or 150 Tick chart, do the price bars justify the order executions. If not, you received bad ticks in realtime that caused orders to execute like that.
You can filter out bad ticks in realtime with the 'Filter bad ticks' setting which you can find at Control Center-->Tools-->Options-->Market data. Please see the link below for more information.
The '% off market' setting determines the offset percentage. For example, if you enter a value of 3, it will filter out ticks that 3% or more away from the prior tick. If the prior tick was a price of 1000.00, it will exclude ticks 970.00 or lower and 1030.00 or higher.Last edited by NinjaTrader_Jason; 09-20-2022, 08:11 AM.

I have corrected the link. It did not copy over properly initially.
Please note that the tick filter does not correct the issue if it already happened. It only filters realtime data, not historical data.
Can you please create a 1 Minute or 150 Tick chart instead of the bar type of your screenshots. Set 'Price based on' to Ask and check if the buy executions are justified.
You can perform an uninstall/reinstall of the NinjaTrader platform as per the instructions below. You will lose all settings and data with these instructions.- First, please make a copy of the license key entered at Control Center-->Help-->License Key as you need it to download NinjaTrader.
- Make sure NinjaTrader is shut down.
- Uninstall NinjaTrader 8 via Windows start menu-->Settings-->Apps.
- Manually delete the Documents-->NinjaTrader 8 folder.
- Download and install NinjaTrader 8.0.26.1 from the link below.

I suggest to have ChartTrader enabled in the chart when you submit a buy market order. Check what ask price is being reported when you submit the buy market order. Buy orders are executed at the ask price. Check if the ask price justifies the buy order execution.
Are the historic buy executions justified when you create a 1 Minute and 150 Tick chart with 'Price based on' set to Ask?
The link is corrected in post #5. I have included it here as well.
