Maximised NinjaTrader Windows on Secondary Monitors Do Not Respect Taskbar

NinjaTrader windows should, when maximised, still display the system taskbar (if that is the system setting the user has). This seems to be the case on the primary monitor. But on secondary monitors, they completely overlap the taskbar., This is not the correct behaviour and appears to be in need of a fix.

    Thanks.

    Hello jeronymite,

    Thank you for posting.

I have tested this on my end and was able to reproduce this behavior as well. I have forwarded this to our Development Team and will follow up as soon as I have additional information available.

    Thank you for your patience.

Please read the following postings as this is a known issue that has been around for 5 years!!!

Ever since the first NT8 beta I have experienced a problem where NT8 fails to recognize the presence of a task bar on the non primary monitors. This has happened with both Windows and 3rd party multi monitor task bars. This has been a reported a number of times over some years on this forum. Whenever I maximize a chart on the

NinjaTrader staff have previously replied that their particular implementation method for the windows causes this problem.

Below I have copied some text from one of my earlier postings on this topic.

"Please read the 25 postings in the attached link!
You will see that SFT-2294 was raised in April 2019 on this topic.(posting #10)!
You will also see that in posting Articles there is a reference to a feature request being also raised in May 2017!

Surely there is no need to raise a 3rd feature request on the same topic?

I can't believe we still have to live with this issue all these years later. I run 6 monitors and it is an incredibly annoying problem.

Why is this still an issue? Ninja Trader? People need to see their taskbar on 2nd monitors.. What is the issue? Please explain.... This has been going on far too long

Exactly! I first raised this during the beta phase of NT8 roughly 7 years ago and a number of times since. NT8 windows simply don't behave like normal windows. They don't respect taskbars on non primary monitors.
In another strange quirk they don't allow a Firefox tab on one monitor to be dragged to a new location on top of a NT8 chart on another monitor! For reasons I don't understand NT8 was developed using non standard windows.
Further to the above there is a problem on my primary monitor as well. If I save a workspace on exit with the chart on the primary monitor respecting the taskbar I find that when I restart the program the primary monitor taskbar is also overwritten!
NT8 windows behavior is completely unique. I have never seen this behavior on any of the 100s of other programs I have used over decades. I have tried using 3rd party multi monitor software instead of the built in windows version but similar problems occur. After 8 years of dealing with this issue I have given up hope that the NT8 programmers will fix this problem. I have seen the same behavior on 3 different PCs now. Is it because not enough people have complained?

It would appear that based on the lack of response to recent posts that this issue despite being 7 years old doesn't rate highly on Ninjatrader's agenda. Frankly I am staggered that a basic window management issue that would affect anyone with multiple monitors hasn't received far more complaints.
