development and Live enviroment

Hello!
Today I'm running some strategies in Live and developing new ones in the same machine.
If I want to have one server for Live and develop in my desktop computer, do I need two ninjatrader licenses?
Or two different licenses for the data provider?

Welcome to the NinjaTrader forums!

While you are able to install NinjaTrader on multiple computers using your Live License key, we only allow for one computer to be running at a time with that key.

This means that you must shutdown NinjaTrader on one computer before starting NinjaTrader on another computer.

If you would like to run NinjaTrader on multiple computers simultaneously you must use different licenses (meaning you would need to purchase a second license) or use the Simulation Only License on one computer that you do not plan to place trades from.
Below I am including the Simulation Only License key.


The data provider does not use the NinjaTrader License key.

The NinjaTrader license key controls if you can trade live with the NinjaTrader Platform. This is separate from any brokerage or data feed you are connecting to for data.

To connect two instances of NinjaTrader simultaneously to the same account you would need to contact your broker or data provider and inquire if a second login can be set up for a second computer to connect simultaneously. Otherwise, you would need a second source of data.
