loading range bars in forex

Hello, I just started with forex in ninjatrader 8. Seems I can only load the past few days data using range bars. I've tried with EURUSD and GBPUSD. Is it possible look back further?

Who is your data provider? Range bars require tick data. Different providers will have different amounts of data available.

Hello Kate,

Thanks for getting back to me. My futures account is with CQG, I just opened the forex account with forex.com, not sure if this means there is a different data provider.

Thank you for your note.

I believe Forex.com only provides about 2 days of tick data from their historical data servers.

However, you can switch to use the NinjaTrader historical data servers, which will provide tick data further back. Please go to the Control Center-->Connections and click configure in the lower right corner. Select your Forex.com connection in the Configured box in the lower left. Do you have 'NinjaTrader historical data server' enabled or disabled on the right? If disabled, please enable it and click OK. Subsequently perform a disconnect/reconnect of your Forex.com connection in NinjaTrader. Once reconnected, please test.
