going offline then back online

I dont think my system works right. I dont think I can manually download data from the server all at once and have it work.
(I forgot the error message I used to get on several installations before this one)
I'm scared to go try to download it and it erase all my good data so I just leave my pc on 24/7 to record data
but then something happens and I lose it all


I have: market recording for playback enabled
I do not have record live data as historical enabled.

Sometimes I want to disconnect from live and run some playback tests while the futures market is still open.
Since I'm disconnected, will those ticks not get recorded and I'll have incorrect missing data when I get back online?
or will it pick up those missed ticks?

I always feel like I have bad data because for example today I ran a strategy on live and it was down -$200
then I ran it on playback from today's data and it was up.

Hi, thanks for posting. The system will not download or record the data unless NinjaTrader is running and recording the data actively. You will need to download missing tick data from Tools>Historical data to download the data that was missed when the platform was off.
