    Official Settlement Price

When trading futures, for example NQ, ES, CL etc. there is the official settlement price from the exchange, CME, NYMEX etc. for NQ and ES this would be generated at 4pm EST and for CL at 2.30 pm EST

..... and then the market continues trading until the cut at 5pm when the final closing trading price is generated and this price has far less bearing on the next trading day than the official settlement price posted by the exchange at the official main trading hours close - after which trading continues in the case of CL for 2 1/2 hours through time periods when the price can move considerably. Even on NQ and ES after hours earnings reports or news flow can move the price far away from the official settlement.

The official settlement price can be dialed into the Market Analyzer as a price quote on the ticker symbol line... great....

But there appears to be no way to have the settlement price displayed on the charts - which is nuts, since a simple line on the chart to show the previous official settlement sets how far the market is positive or negative on the day and the price often plays off that area whilst it finds the new day's direction. The last price of the previous day is less important but even then, when putting in closing price onto the charts it neither correlates with settlement price or the last price tick of the previous day and appears to be some averaged no# somewhere between the two which makes no sense at all and is basically useless if not downright misleading information.

SO : Could Ninja manage to add to their charts the possibility to display a line with previous day's official settlement. This should be quite straight forwards since you have it in the Market Analyzer already.

It seems to be a large flaw in the platform that this price cannot be charted and that the chart displays some confusing closing price that seems to match with nothing logical at all.

Please add "settlement price" to the charts.

Without it frankly your entire platform is faulty.

I looked at buying ninja some years ago but decided against it because of this problem and now 4 years later the problem has still not been corrected and you want people to pay money and take financial risks on this faulty goods ?

You might try looking at the ecosystem free indicators, here is one that plots the futures settlement price on the chart: https://ninjatraderecosystem.com/use...tlement-lines/

This recommended settlement price indicator has an incorrect definition of settlement price and therefore would probably give erroneous results. - https://ninjatraderecosystem.com/use...tlement-lines/
"Futures Settlement is the closing price of the contract at the end of the Regular Trading Hours (RTH) Session - 3:15 PM Central Time. "

Closing price (last tick) is not the same as the settlement price:

"For most Equity Index futures, daily settlement price for the front month is calculated using a volume weighted average price (VWAP) based on the last 30 seconds of the trading day."

I have added the indicator "Settlement Price " to my Market Analyzer and I have noticed that it displays after the market closes but not when the market is open. I am assuming this is maybe because the value is derived for the current day and it does not see the last (yesterday's ) Settlement Price.
Please tell me.... how do I get the most recent (including yesterday's) settlement price into my market analyzer column. ???

Here is what i see using the Continuum data feed. If you are not using CQG or Continuum data feed I do not know if you would see the same.

In the market analyzer, I added the Market analyzer column "Last Close". I added the indicator column with indicator "Settle Price". I added the market analyzer "settlement Price".

As you can see the Market analyzer Settlement price column has not populated and won't until after todays close.

As you can see the "Last close" and the indicator settlement price show exactly the same price, meaning you only need the Last close column.

If you look at the CME settlement price pictures, you can see that the "Last Close" and the Settlement Price indicator match the CME's "Settle" column.

The description of settlement is incorrect as I was just going on what was told to me back then, and this was my first indicator. The settlement price is actually retrieved from the data feed, so it is accurate.

There is a bug in it that requires refreshing of the chart in the morning to get the correct settlement price. I just haven't had time to correct it after learning the correct way to use session iterator, especially since this is free and I have paying customers. Sorry.

I am interested in getting my charts to reflect the actually settlement price. How do I go about that and which option do I choose from the Data series>Trading hours?
