This is a recurring problem with IB charts, although it's especially bad today - for me anyway. Why does this repeatedly happen and what, if anything, can be done about it?

Charts from IB taking an age to load.
I've been trying for nearly 2 hours to load charts from IB with almost no success. FDAX won't load at all (I have the latest symbol mapping) and ES,YM,NQ are either not loading at all or only a few charts open (I have multiple charts for each symbol).
This is a recurring problem with IB charts, although it's especially bad today - for me anyway. Why does this repeatedly happen and what, if anything, can be done about it?Tags: None

Thank you for your posts.
Can you confirm the version of TWS or IB Gateway you are using? This may be found on the splash screen when whichever you are using to connect starts up (sometimes called the Build Number).
If it's not one of the versions listed below, please uninstall the version you are using and install the appropriate one linked below:Once you have verified you're using the correct version, please test.

Thank you for your reply.
Interactive Brokers does not supply historical tick data which would be necessary for charts of time frames smaller than 1 minute or tick-based chart types to display historically. We would expect that these charts would not show historical data, only real time data.

To further investigate to see if there are errors occurring, we will need you to send us an email directly through the platform as we'll need your log and trace files. As these may contain personally identifiable information, we wouldn't want you to post those here.
You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support.
Ensuring 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default.
