    Exit Position Multiple Contracts

Hi simple question, but can't figure out how to do it. I have 4 contract on long/short position with an exit target at say 20 tics. Sometimes it will exit with one contract at 20 tics, and the other 3 at 19 tics. How do I force my exit to be 20 tics for all 4 contracts? Thank you.

    Hello cthinckley,

Thank you very much for your post and welcome to the NinjaTrader forums!

How an order fills depends on the order type itself. If your order is submitted as a Stop Market order, for example, the order would fill at the first available price, once the selected Stop price has been touched. This can cause the order to fill with slippage, but would always guarantee a fill.

A Stop Limit order, on the other hand, would only fill at the selected price (or further in your favor), but would not fill if this price cannot be reached, which could result in the market touching or even exceeding your selected price, yet not resulting in a fill if the requested volume is not available.

Investopedia also has a publicly available article on the various order types and how they behave, you may find this below:

Should you have any further questions in this regard, please don't hesitate to let me know!
