    Unhandled exception

    Hi all - I am having an issue with importing NinjaScripts into my NinjaTrader.

    "Unhandled exception: Acces to the path 'C:\...\Documents\NinjaTrader 8\tmp\Import\Backup\bin\custom' is denied.

    I have read numerous post here, they all guide me in a similar manner which is very generic. I have disabled my antivirus, and tried importing. but still getting the same error. When I get the error, within 5 seconds NinjaTrader crash.

    I have looked online to see how I can give application permission directly to write access into a folder but have come up empty.

    Anyone have like a step guidance, rather than generic, to figure this out? I have in the past been able to import Scripts. I have another computer and that one is working properly, and it has the same antivirus and everything. That is why I was thinking if there is a way I can directly allow access from an application to write into that folder.

    Where is your Documents folder located, exactly?

    That is, what does 'C:\...' expand to, exactly?

      Hi David - C:\Users"My Name"\Documents...

      The normal installation for Windows. my second computer is on the same directory and in that one everything is working fine.

        Hello felixolmo,

        Can you please check if any other application access/blocks/scans files in the Documents-->NinjaTrader 8 folder. Make sure to configure the application (automatic backup software for example) so that none of the files in this directory would be accessed/blocked/scanned or remove that directory from the scanning list.

        The error can also be caused by a recent Windows update and/or Windows Defender that set the Windows security setting of "Controlled Folder Access" to "On".
        • Please search in Windows for "Controlled Folder Access".
        • Click on "Controlled Folder Access".
        • Turn "Controlled Folder Access" to Off

          Thanks Jason.

          Couple of things:
          - For some reason I do not see the "ControlledFolder Access"
          - Additionally, how can I check if other applications have access to the folder? Do you have some more specific directions?

          Any help thru the phone?

            Could it be you are trying to install NinjaTrader on a computer from work? This could clarify why you can't view "Controlled Folder Access".

            It depends on what other application could be blocking NinjaTrader. Can you please tell me what anti-virus and other programs you have running on your computer that could be blocking NinjaTrader? If you give me the name of the anti-virus program or other program, I can search the internet for instructions to exclude NinjaTrader.

            Unfortunately there is no inbound phone number for platform support.
