Reset Order Quantity after each trade

Hi there, I would REALLY love to know if there's an option to reset the order quantity after each trade
I trade futures, and I'm used to my broker always resetting the size to 1 after each execution, no matter what size I put in before...

It happened to me so many times already that I scale in to, say, 5 contracts, one by one, then I want to put a sell limit to exit all 5 at a certain price so I raise the order qty to 5, but for the next trade i completely forget that its at 5 and I end up accidentally buying or shorting 5 contracts.

Even worse is when im on SIM (paper trading) mode and for the heck of it I buy 10-20 contracts, then an hour later I wanna buy/short on my real account and I accidentally end up oversizing by a lot... why doesn't the order QTY reset between modes/accounts? I don't know why but this has hurt me several times already.. the order QTY is not easy to notice esp. after you come back from a break..

Anyway would love it if it could simply be configured to reset to 1 after each buy/sell order regardless of account/mode. (i know ATM strategy can help with that but only if you close the trade you're in.. doesnt help between modes or if you keep it open and just wanna add or trade another ticker...)

    Thanks a lot

    Hello jarx28,

    Thank you for your inquiry.

Unfortunately, what you're describing is expected and is the intended behavior of the quantity selector. When you change the order quantity (either by manually entering a quantity or selecting an ATM Strategy), the quantity selector will remain on that value until you deliberately change it (or select a different ATM Strategy). I have submitted this as a feature request to the Development Team. I will follow up with an internal tracking number for your reference as soon as it is created.

Please also note that you can turn on an order confirmation prompt so that you have to confirm each order before it is placed. This would allow you to review the order details before placing the order. If you'd like to enable this, you may do so from Tools > Options > trading and checking the box next to 'Confirm order placement', and then selecting Apply and OK.

Thanks in advance for your patience.

        Hello jarx28,
I had a data issue yesterday (June 22, 2022) and had to install the very latest version of NT8 to resolve the issue and now the Order Quantity resets back to "1" every time I close out a trade. It appears that you can set a default quantity and seems like it will reset back to this quantity after every closed trade. I would suggest you download the latest version of NT8 and try it out.
