ordering chart elements

hi. i used to be able to click on something on my chart and re-order it . so to send price, for instance, to the back or front of an indicator. now when i click on the indicator. or price, it doesnt highlight, meaning i dont get the dots which shows its highlighted, therefore there is no re ordering option available. can anyone help please.

Thank you for your inquiry.

First and foremost, please right-click on your chart and select 'Properties'. Within the 'Properties' window, please make sure that 'Allow the selection or drag/drop of chart series' option is enabled. This must be enabled to be able to select various chart components. Once this option is enabled, you can adjust paint order by left-clicking on the indicator/data series/drawing object, holding down the Shift key on your keyboard, and using your mouse scroll wheel to adjust the order. thats the problem. i check that box in the properties. apply it. it still doesnt work. but when i go back into properties. the box is unchecked....

Thank you for your response.

Just to be certain, are you sure that you are pressing Apply and OK when enabling the option rather than 'Cancel'? Cancel will discard any changes you've made. If you are indeed selecting Apply and OK, and the option is still becoming disabled afterward, it may be something third party that it changing the option.

So we can verify that it is not a third party add-on causing NinjaTrader to not work as expected, could you please start the platform in Safe Mode?

Safe Mode will prevent NinjaTrader from:

• Loading workspaces.
• Connecting on start-up.
• Loading custom assemblies.
• Getting instrument updates from the server.

To enable safe mode, please use the following steps:

• Exit NinjaTrader.
• Hold the CONTROL key and double click the NinjaTrader icon.
• Keep the CONTROL key held down until you see the Control Center.
• You can verify you are in safe mode by going to Help -> About.

Once you have opened the platform in safe mode:

• Reconnect to your data provider from the 'Connections' menu
• Please open a new chart with no custom bar types/indicators/templates, add an indicator, and test for issues.
  • Please note this will not delete your workspace however the new blank workspace will be named Untitled. If you have a workspace already named "Untitled," however, you will not want to save the workspace when exiting NinjaTrader, otherwise, it will overwrite it.
