Alert (sound) when price reaches certain levels - Not working (no sound)

    Hello,

I'm trying using alert to emit a sound (wav file) when price reaches certain sup/res levels. But alert is not working... no sound.
    Please, anybody knows what's wrong?

    Hello TRADER_F,

If you open the Alerts Log window at Control Center-->New, do you see the alert there when it is triggered?

What setting do you have selected for 'Rearm type'? If you set it to 'On timer' and use a value of 1 for 'Rearm seconds', does it trigger?

What sound do you have selected? Do you hear it if you select one of the default sounds such as 'Alert1'?

Can you please tell me if you see the alert in the Alerts Log window.

Could it be NinjaTrader is muted in Windows Volume Mixer? Please see the publicly available link below regarding the Windows Volume Mixer.

Does it make a difference if you reboot your computer (if not already)?

If you shut down NinjaTrader and navigate to C:\-->Program Files (x86)-->NinjaTrader 8-->sounds, do you hear the sound if you double click a sound file such as Alert1 or Connected?

If you test the alert condition in the screenshot, does it trigger the alert and do you hear a sound?

(No, this is not the problem. Other sounds working properly)

(I’m going to test screenshot alert condition)

Jason, I use renko proprietary bars.
Renko 8, 16, 32 and 64. Yesterday alerts on all renko charts were working. Today not…

If you don't hear the sound after playing the sound file by double clicking it at C:\-->Program Files (x86)-->NinjaTrader 8-->sounds, it likely indicates there an issue on your computer in regards to audio. I suggest to use the link below from Microsoft to troubleshoot the audio/sound issue.

              Hello Jason!

I've tested alert in other conditions and sound is ok!

So, why alert is not working with these conditions? (when price touches sup/res lines)?

              What's wrong?

                Good to hear sound works.

Could it be the S3 Line value is plotted at a price that doesn't exist for the GC futures? The GC futures uses a tick size of 0.1, so it trades at prices of 1844.6, 1844.7, etc. If the S3 Line is plotted on a price such as 1844.65, the last traded price can't be equal to this price. If you select 'Cross above/below' instead, does it trigger the alert?

                  Hello Jason!

Please, take a look at picture "alert3"! You are right, my indicator plots 1833.615

Now, take a look at picutre "alert4" ! I have tried using alert with horizontal line. Not worked again....

How to setup alert, for instance when price touches (GC) 1833.6 ? I mean, instead using my indicator or any horizontal line, my ideia is type the lines. Did you understand?

By the way, alert was not triggered (according to alert log)

                  Regards!

Can you please double click the horizontal line to open its properties menu. Click 'Data' and set the 'Anchor Y' field to a value that is traded by the GC futures - 1833.6. Click OK. Subsequently configure the alert and check if it triggers.

Another problem with alert. This time alert is not working when price touches EMA 14 & 34.
                        Please, anybody could help me?
                        What's wrong?

                          Hello TRADER_F,

                          Thank you for your reply.

If you use a different sound, like one of the built in sounds, does that play?

If you use CrossAbove or CrossBelow instead of Equals in the center, does that work? The EMA price may not exactly equal the current price, since that's an average and may not be exactly at a specific tick price.

Thanks in advance; I look forward to assisting you further.

                            Hi Kate!

No sound. I've tried "CROSS INSIDE" & "CROSS OUTSIDE". No success... By the way, in which cases I could use "CROSS INSIDE" / "CROSS OUTSIDE"?

Ok, I'm going to use "CROSS ABOVE" & "CROSS BELOW". I'll let you know if it works!

                            Regards!

                              Hi Kate!

Another doubt: is there a way to save alert (template)? Because it takes time to build alert. It would help a lot if we could save a template!

                              Regards!
