    Unable to rolloever instrument to NQ 9-22

    Hello,

    I am trying to rollover to the current NQ contract, but for some reason, after rollover, the rollover message keeps appearing on the screen, and the volume shows pretty low (besides, it is higher than the past contract)

    I tried Control Center > Tools > Database Management > Rollover. and after a couple of minutes, the message keeps popping

    also, I tried updating the instrument list, and it shows the error in the image below:

    I already tried re-installing NinjaTrader 8, but the issue persists. Any suggestion?

    ---- Updated

    It looks like both instruments are dephased, and NQ is behind by approx 20mins to MNQ. my data feed provider is CQGClick image for larger version Name:	nq.PNG Views:	0 Size:	91.7 KB ID:	1205302
    Chart above NQ, below MNQ

    Regards,
    Ale

    Hello Ale,

    Thank you for your inquiry.

    This message is appearing because of an instrument called CWR that the database cannot update. This instrument appears to be something that was accidentally added by our database team and can be removed from the platform to resolve the issue. Please do the following;
    • Go to Tools > Instruments
    • Search CWR
    • Once you've located CWR, please select it with a left-click and select 'remove' (remove is right about the 'Close' button)
    • You can then close the Instruments window
    After you've deleted CWR, you should be able to use the Database Management functions normally. After completing the roll over from the Database Management window, please right-click on the chart and select Reload Historical Data.

    Does the issue on the charts persist after completing the steps above?

      Same here. Cannot rollover NQ DEC23 to MAR24. Message keeps appearing. How can I fix this?

        Hello carlos_slim,

        Can you please tell me what the error message exactly states. If it refers to the CWR instrument, please perform the steps of post 2.

        You can type in the instrument in the Instrument field of most NinjaTrader windows. For example:
        • Left click in the Instrument field first and hit Backspace on your keyboard.
        • Type in NQ MAR24 and hit Enter on your keyboard.
        If you like to add instruments to instrument lists, please perform the steps below.
        • Go to Control Center-->Tools-->Instrument Lists.
        • Click the instrument list on the left side.
        • Click add on the right.
        • Type NQ MAR24 and hit Enter on your keyboard.

          Hello Jason. No, it does not refer to the CWR instrument (while I deleted it after reading this post since it is an instrument I will never use), but the rollover screen just keeps appearing for NQ DEC23. I don't even have it open on any of the charts btw. I almost exclusively trade ES. I tried to rollover via Database Management but no change.

            Can you please click the Done button in the lower right corner of the Auto Rollover Notification window. If you now restart the NinjaTrader Desktop platform and select Yes to save workspaces, do you still get the Auto Rollover Notification window on start up?

            If so, please check all charts and other windows of all workspaces that are open. Could it be you have the NQ DEC23 selected somewhere?

            Are you able to select the NQ MAR24 by manually typing it in a NinjaTrader window or when adding it to an instrument list?

              Of course I started the rollover process. But even after restarting it keeps appearing. Only my default worksheet open, nothing but ES. I can load NQ MAR24 (rollover DID change it in my instrument selector/pulldown). Strange.

                Can you please shut down NinjaTrader Desktop and navigate to the Documents-->NinjaTrader 8 folder. Delete the UI.xml file. Start NinjaTrader Desktop and check if you don't get the Auto Rollover Notification anymore.

                    hi I'm having a similar problem to above. I'm trying to rollover 6E and 6B. They are not in my rollover list and I can't add them, but I'm not worried about that.

                    I tried doing it manually.. clicking on my 09-23 chart for 6E, typing 6E 03-24. The chart changes to 03-24 but the reloads with the old contract data, then adds a vertical line to the new 03-24 price. It then continues as normal at 03-24 prices.

                    If I power off and restart, the same happens again, the 12-23 data appears, the suddenly, a vertical line to the new 03-24 price..

                    I'd just like to scrub all the old data off so it only loads 03-24 prices. Any help gratefully received

                    ps My ES and NQ rolled over normally, being in the rollover list

                      Hello ragic,

                      This is because the 6E and 6B futures are setup to rollover tomorrow. If you create a 6E 03-24 chart today, it loads all historical data from the 12-23 expiry month and combines it with realtime data from the 03-24 expiry month. This causes the long price bar because there is a price difference between the 12-23 and 03-24 expiry months.

                      If you like to load only historical data for the 03-24 expiry month in the chart, please proceed as follows.
                      • Go to Control Center-->Tools-->Instruments
                      • Double click the 6E instrument
                      • Set 'Merge policy' to 'Do not merge'
                      • Click OK-->Close
                      • Right click in the 6E 03-24 chart and select 'Reload All Historical Data'.
