    Where do orders reside that have been submitted over the weekend?

    Hello Ninjatrader staff,

    Before the close on Friday, I cancel all open Stop-Limit orders and re-submit them before the open on Sunday. Where do these Stop-Limit orders reside before the exchange opens?

    Where your orders reside depend on the status of the order and your broker. For most brokers, orders in an 'Accepted' or 'Working' state will be active at either the brokerage or exchange's servers. The only difference is that, over the weekend, your orders may remain in a 'Submitted' state until your broker begins accepting orders again or you may encounter rejections when your broker is not accepting orders. Orders in a 'Submitted' state have been submitted to the connectivity provider, but have not yet reached the brokerage/exchange. You may read about where orders reside at the link below;

      Thank you for your reply, it was informative.

      Is it possible to cancel orders on the CME exchange during the weekend? It's difficult to find any information about this on Google.

        This may be a question that is better directed at your broker rather than our technical support team. I would suggest contacting your broker directly.
