Running NT8 on Raspberry PI cluster for testing?

Have you ever heard of anyone running NT8 on a Raspberry PI cluster, to test?

I do a lot of strategy testing on NT8. It's not unusual that a test run can take days, or even longer. I've been watching YouTube videos of those heavy into Quant testing, which is script intensive, setting up cheap Raspberry PI clusters to get long tests completed in short time, on cheap equipment.

Has anyone approached this solutions for intensive strategy NT8 testing? Thanks,

    Hello timmbbo,

Thank you very much for your post.

As NinjaTrader 7/8 are .NET Framework-based, Raspberry Pis would not be supported by default. While it is possible to run .NET Framework applications on a Pi, our support team would not be able to assist with this, I hope for your understanding.

As it is quite possible some NinjaTrader users in our community have more experience with this I will leave this thread open for further replies.

If there is anything we may assist you with, please let me know!

Hi, sorry for bumping post. I’ve been wondering the same thing. I do a lot of strategy testing in NT8, and some backtests take forever. I’ve seen people using Raspberry Pi clusters for quant testing, but I’m unsure if NT8 can even run efficiently on ARM architecture. Maybe through some workaround like a lightweight Windows VM? Has anyone successfully set this up, or is the performance just not worth the effort?

        Interesting!

The real question (probably the only question), is, has anyone ever
setup Windows w/.NET Framework on a Raspberry Pi cluster?

There is no reason to care about NT8's capabilities until you solve
the 'Can you get a Windows desktop to run on it?' question.

You have a hierarchy of problems.

NT requires Windows, so that's your first hurdle, getting Windows
up and running. After that, you'll need to get the full desktop
experience running, because NT requires .NET Framework.

Some quick googling, and looks like the ARM architecture
        may be another hurdle.

        Good luck!

Alright got it and I'm taking help from chatgpt to fix all these issues.
