    Hello Maximus344,

    Thank you for using NinjaTrader.

This error indicates that something on your computer is blocking NinjaTrader from accessing its own files and successfully importing your add-on. I have outlined a few different troubleshooting steps below to combat this error.

Please try opening the Platform regularly after each of these steps.

    Uninstall/Reinstall NinjaTrader 8

Please follow the steps listed below to complete a quick uninstall and reinstall NinjaTrader. These directions will keep you from losing any of your information.
    • Close all running applications.
    • Do not do anything to the Documents/NinjaTrader folder
    • Uninstall NinjaTrader within Windows Control Panel.
    • Navigate to C:\ > Program File (x86) > Delete the 'NinjaTrader 8' folder if it exists
    • Reboot your PC.
    • Once these steps are completed, download and install NT8 from the link below.

Before restarting NinjaTrader, be sure all available updates are installed to your PC from the Windows Settings > Update and Security page. Be sure to manually check for updates here, and reboot after any updates are installed.

    Windows Firewall/Anti-Virus

First, please check for any virus protection, firewall, and backup software you may be running, and add exceptions for NinjaTrader so that they do not interfere with NinjaTrader's operation.

    "Hidden" and "Read-only" Folder Settings

Next, try to adjust the read/write protection for NinjaTrader 8's documents folder:
    • Go to your Computer\Documents folder > right-click on the NinjaTrader 8 folder > select "Properties".
    • From the Folder properties, ensure that the Attributes have both "Read-only" and "Hidden" unchecked.
    • When prompted to Confirm Attribute Changes, please make sure to select "apply changes to this folder, subfolders, and files" and press OK.
    • Re-open the platform to see if the error persists

    Disable Controlled Folder Access

Next, press the "Windows Key" on your keyboard > Search for "Controlled Folder Access" > Click on "Controlled Folder Access" > Turn "Controlled Folder Access" off if it is enabled
    • This can be restricted by administrator settings. If you are unable to access this setting, please contact your network/PC administrator.
    • Additional information on Controlled Folder Access may be read at this publicly-available link from Microsoft's website: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...ndows-security

Please let me know if these solutions work for you, and feel free to ask any questions you may have as you work.

Well, I spent way too much time trying everything I could find to resolve the issue. This is where I'm at. I'm not getting the Access error anymore. I'm now getting a new error. If I move the cs file to the indicator folder and compile. I don't get any errors and the indicator works fine. But I have a trade copier to install and I don't know how to install it manually as there are more files then just the cs file. I'm looking for a real fix to this issue or another workaround to install the copier. Thanks for your time.

        Hello Maximus344,

        Thank you for your response.

Let's double-check that there are no compile errors on your platform that may be preveiting you from being able to manage or import new add-ons successfully. To begin resolving this, do the following:
        • Go to the Control Center > New > NinjaScript Editor
        • Right-click in the NinjaScript Editor > select 'Compile'
You may see some errors in orange appear at the bottom of the window. Expand this window so that as many of these errors, if not all of them, are visible. Expand the error message itself as much as possible. Please send a screenshot of these errors, and we will be able to send you the steps to resolve them.

To send a screenshot with Windows 10 or newer I would recommend using the Windows Snipping Tool.Alternatively to send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screenshot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CTRL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save it as a jpeg file and send the file as an attachment.

Thank you in advance. I look forward to assisting you further.

No errors showed up. A pleasant chime went off when completed.

            Hello Maximus344,

            Thank you for your response.

This would indicate that everything already imported on your platform is compiling correctly and ready for use. Paired with the error you are receiving, please double-check that you have not already imported the trade copier, or if there is an earlier version of this add-on already imported on your platform, it may need to be removed before you can import the new one.

You may view existing add-ons in the Tools > Remove NinjaScript Assembly window as well as individual indicators and strategies from the NinjaScript Editor's Explorer panel on the right.

If you remain unable to import this add-on, it may be easiest to simply repair the bin folder and re-import all of your existing add-ons along with the new trade copier to ensure that everything is imported correctly, no existing files are replaced or duplicated and confirm that NinjaTrader is fully able to access its own files on your computer.

Please let me know the results of this test. I look forward to your response.
