Tick alert

HI,

I'd like to get an audible alert when ticks go above or below a certain number for a given time bar, different alerts depending on if it's up or down.

So for example say on a 1 minute MES chart, ticks go +- 200 within that one minute bar generate an alert. I want the alert generated at the time it happens, not waiting for bar close.

I'm quite sure NT8 can do this but I can't figure out how in the alerts, can you offer any assistance? thank you.

Thank you for your inquiry.

There is not a way to count the number of ticks in a time-based bar, so there wouldn't be a way to create an alert when certain number of ticks are met on a time-based bar. You could create a volume-based alert on a time-based bar (such an alert when the volume surpasses whatever numeric value). Otherwise, you'd need to open a tick-based interval and create the alert using the 'Tick Counter' indicator.
