Downloading New Version

Hello,

When I download the updated version, will it delete my indicators and strategies? I don't think so, just want to make sure. Thanks

Thank you for writing in.

When updating the NinjaTrader platform, it shouldn't affect any of your unique files like your Workspaces, Templates, or NinjaScript Strategies.

Updating NinjaTrader only affects the core files that run the program and it doesn't do anything with your unique files.

That being said, you can always create a Backup file so that if something unexpected did happen, you would have a backup of all of your work.

Please use the steps below to export a Backup file of your NinjaTrader platform:

• Go to the Control Center > Connections > disconnect from all active connections
• Go to the Control Center > Tools > Export > Backup File
• Check the following boxes to ensure you have a copy of all of your unique files:
  • Configuration files
  • Database file
  • NinjaScript files
  • Workspaces
  • Templates
• Click Export
• Save the file somewhere you can find
• After exporting, copy the file to a USB Flash Drive or send it to yourself in an email so that you always have a backup copy
