Margin is very important information to know when trading anything. The leverage available affects the margin and therefore the minimum available balance required in the trading account for any orders placed.

Brokers usually publish margin rates and these can be used to calculate actual margin amounts for particular instruments, taking into account other factors such as account type and market conditions.
