Placing Stop Losses and Targets After Entry

I'm trying to figure out how to manually place stop losses and targets after I've entered a position. I usually use an ATM strategy and this is taken care of thru that, but, for instance, if I use the Reverse Order function I find that does not follow the ATM rules and leaves me with no stops or targets, so how would I manually "plug" those in? Do I use the DOM? Is there a way to do this on the chart with no DOM? Thanks

    Hello TraderGreen,

    Thank you for writing in.

If you are in a position with an Active ATM Strategy selected, clicking the Reverse button will cause the position to reverse and trigger the same ATM Strategy to be used.
    • Again, this only happens if the Active ATM Strategy is selected.
    • If you look at the ATM Strategy Drop Down menu once an ATM Strategy has been triggered, you will see a version of the ATM Strategy with a Lightning bolt next to it.
    • If ATM Strategy with the Lightning bolt is the "Active ATM Strategy".
    • If the ATM Strategy Dropdown menu is showing the Active ATM Strategy with the Ligntning bolt when you click Reverse, it should re-deploy the ATM Strategy in the opposite direction.

If you for example forgot to place the order with an ATM Strategy attached, you can go to the Positions Tab and apply an ATM Strategy to the position:
    • Go to the Control Center > Positions tab
    • Right-click on the desired Position > Apply ATM Strategy > Select the desired ATM Strategy and it will place the Targets as specified

If you want to manually place the Profit and Stop Loss Targets, you could do this by manually placing an OCO order around your position.
    1. Right-click on the Chart Trader Panel or Order entry window and click OCO Order, to turn ON OCO order placement
    2. Place 2 orders
    3. Right-click and turn OFF OCO order placement
      • Please make sure to turn Off OCO order placement after you place the two orders or it may start causing errors.
Please follow along with this publicly available video for a more advanced demonstration of using Manually Placed OCO orders:
