Forex lot size

Hello NT8,

I see in the chart trader I can enter any number I want in the "Order Qty" box for contracts or currency. Can I really purchase any amount of currency I want in Forex (even in, say, 500 unit increments)? Or do I need to follow traditional Lot sizes.

If I do need to follow traditional lot sizes, what are they?

When trading Forex a quantity of 100,000 would be a Full Lot, 10,000 would be for a Mini Lot and 1,000 would be for a Micro Lot. I suggest contacting your broker directly to verify if they allow orders to be submitted and executed for less than a Micro Lot of 1,000 for Forex instruments.

In Forex, you can trade any amount you want, including increments as small as 500 units. However, it's important to note that traditional Forex lot sizes do exist for a reason. Trading in larger sizes can give you more leverage and risk management flexibility. I use mt5 for trading and it is easy to count lots here.
