    How to Disable Quick Search?

    The Instrument Selector in NinjaTrader offers a Quick Search feature, as described in the Help Guide topic titled "Using the Instrument Selector." Unfortunately, the Quick Search is often very, very slow, so slow that it materially impedes my workflow. As such, I'd like to turn it off; is this possible and, if so, how?

    Thank you very much for your post.

    While it is not possible to turn the search off completely, it should never impede your ability to work, as it should not delay a direct entry (e.g. if you simply type on top of the chart).

    I would like to take a look at your platform's log & trace files, as any issues the platform reports should be recorded therein.

    You can send me these files by going to Help > Email Support.

      I tried to send the requested files but, consistent with past experience, the upload failed with the message "Unable to upload attachment files to support server. Please try again later. Support request email will be sent out though. Unable to connect to the remote server"

        Thank you for your note.

        Please follow the steps below to email us at PlatformSupport[AT]NinjaTrader[DOT]com your log and trace files.
        • Open the Windows File Explorer (hotkey = Windows key + E) Then navigate to "Documents" > Open the "NinjaTrader 7/8" folder
        • Right-click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
        • Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to this email.
        • Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.
