Using Drawings on Multiple Time Frames
Good day. Does anyone know how to make drawings only appear on specific timeframes. Eg. I want a Drawing on my monthly chart to show up on all timeframes, but I only want drawings on the weekly chart to show up on the weekly chart, and those below it. The drawings on the weekly chart must not appear on the monthly chart. Any help would be appreciated. -
Hello Intj_fx,
Thank you very much for your post and welcome to the NinjaTrader forums!
As both of your posts address the same subject, I've removed the other post and will address it on this post instead.
Drawing objects can currently only be set to either appear on the current chart, or on all charts of the same instrument.
To change this setting, please edit the drawing object, you may then find this option at the top:
It would not be possible to limit a drawing object to only appear in specific timeframes.
Should you have any further questions in this regard, please don't hesitate to let me know!

This is a basic feature of other platforms...webull, Tradingview, Metatrader, TOS, etc and shouldn't be hard to implement. Please add this as a feature request as it's extremely counter productive to have to manually redraw lines across multiple charts every single time. You can also see that having lower TF lines appear on higher TF charts is just a complete and absolute mess
I would have thought that after almost 2yrs of mentioning this and probably before this as well, that something like this would have been implemented already. As a developer, you should be checking competitive platforms for feature duplication and enhancements to make the lives of your traders simple and faster.
Drawing S/R lines is a daily thing for most traders and to have to manually change color from the blue every single time then to also have to copy the data value i order to duplicate it on 3+ other TFs...crazy amount of time wasted!
Thanks

Hello jdzoska,
Thank you very much for your post.
I've forwarded this to our Development Team as a feature request, I will update this post as soon as I hear back with a tracking number.
Regarding your final paragraph; If you always change the color on every S/R line, you could use the default template to change the default color.
After editing any of the indicators or drawing tools, please click on Template > Save as > Save as Default within their property window. Every time this indicator or drawing object is then applied, it would use these settings.
Should you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to let us know!

Here's a possible workaround Intj_fx . Still not 100% but requires less work overall to get the job doneOriginally posted by Intj_fx View PostGood day. Let's see if I can explain this properly :-)
1. Ok. On the Weekly save a drawing template as default with Attach To set to XYZ All Charts...stay with me :-)
2. On your Monthly, uncheck Show Global Draw Objects in Data Series...this obviously unfortunately affects ALL drawing objects
3. The downside to enabling step 2 is that your monthly drawings will no longer be displayed on the Monthly chart if set to XYZ All Charts and have to be set to Monthly. The process here is then to copy the drawing and paste it to the lower tf charts. Might seem like a lot of work but the amount of drawings on the Monthly chart should be drastically less than lower tf charts and once you get used to the copy paste thing, it's quite fast to duplicate the monthly drawings on lower tfs
So, step 1 will draw the weekly objects on all charts, step 2 excludes the Monthly
Hope that helps
