    What's the difference between saving a workspace and exporting a backup file?

    Title says it all. Any reason to export a backup file even if I'm saving my workspace?

    Hello EnveousColnago,

    Thank you for your post.

    A workspace and backup file are 2 distinct things. A workspace is a collection of windows in NinjaTrader which includes charts, settings, technical indicators and drawing objects. Whereas, a backup file is copy of various components (templates, workspaces, database, NinjaScript files, etc.) of your installation of NinjaTrader that can saved in a separate location to minimize data loss in the event that something bad were to happen. I encourage people to regularly create backups so that they can store it on a thumb drive or in a cloud drive, so that if they were to ever experience hardware failure or needed to reset their PC, they are restore their information much more easily.

    More information about backup files may be found at the link below;
