Save disk space by removing files in Windows?

Hi all. In the process of migrating from NT 7 to 8.

I would like to reduce the disk space (and backup space and time) used by NT 8.

Is it OK to delete files in NinjaTrader8/db/replay and NinjaTrader8/db/tick from the Windows side (in other words using the Windows Explorer), as opposed to deleting them from within NT? In Tools/Historical Data, it's only possible to delete one node at a time; this would take me forever, as I do have a lot of historical (and market replay) data!

    Thanks!

    Hello M_ichel,

    Thank you for your post.

You are able to delete the 'Day', 'Minute' and 'Tick' folders within the db folder in your NinjaTrader 8 documents folder.

These hold the historical data for each interval respectively. Please ensure NinjaTrader is shut down when performing these tasks.

You may then delete the entire 'replay' folder as well and this will remove all Market Replay data.

Also you will need to delete the 'cache' folder as well so NinjaTrader can rebuild these files with the new historical data that will be downloaded and will recreate these folders automatically upon the next restart.
