Volumetric order flow bar statistics... clarification needed

What is the distinction between "Trade" and "Volume?" In my mind, Volume is the number of trades for a given bar, however, Trade and Volume have two different numbers.

Hello,

Trades is referring to filled orders while volume refers to the total number of contracts bought/sold.

I still don't see the distinction. Are you saying that a "filled order" might represent multiple contracts?

Correct, a trade may be for multiple contracts. So while an order for 20 contracts would represent 1 trade but 20 volume.
