Can't load Market Analyzer template after update

    Hello,

I've updated an add on from a 3rd party and now, I can't load my MA templates.
See the errors I have on the attached files.
I do have the latest NT8 version installed.

    Thank you !

    Hello Nicolas,

    Thank you for your post.

Just to be clear, you were able to load the template without error prior to updating the add-on?

Additionally, are you able to load the column without using a template?

Is this an add-on that you created or was acquired from a third party developer?

Please also send me your log and trace files via email so that I may look further into this error.

You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support

Ensuring 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default.

Please reference the following ticket number in the body of the email: 3453504 ATTN Zachary

I look forward to further assisting you with this.

        Hello Nicholas,

Thank you for sending over this information and for your patience.

        Upon reviewing your log and trace files, I can see a little bit more context about this error than what appears in your log. I've included the error below;

        2022-01-24 13:11:58:638 *************** unhandled exception trapped ***************
2022-01-24 13:11:58:638 Index was outside the bounds of the array.

at System.Windows.Threading.ExceptionWrapper.TryCatch When(Object source, Delegate callback, Object args, Int32 numArgs, Delegate catchHandler)

Given that this error only began to occur after updating your add-on, it would seem to be directly related to the add-on itself. You may need to get the developer involved if that's the case. Before we do that, I do want to make sure that the problem is not with NinjaTrader itself. To verify this, I would like you to conduct a test by launching the platform in Safe Mode, creating a Market Analyzer template that does not include the add-on, and applying it to a new Market Analyzer.

Safe Mode will prevent NinjaTrader from:
        • Loading workspaces.
        • Connecting on start-up.
        • Loading custom assemblies.
        • Getting instrument updates from the server.
To enable safe mode, please use the following steps:
        • Exit NinjaTrader.
        • Hold the CONTROL key and double click the NinjaTrader icon.
        • Keep the CONTROL key held down until you see the Control Center.
        • You can verify you are in safe mode by going to Help -> About.
Once you have opened the platform in safe mode:
        • Reconnect to your data provider from the 'Connections' menu
        • Open a new Market Analyzer and add a few of the pre-configured columns
        • Create a template by right-clicking on the MA, selecting templates > Save As and giving your template a name
        • Open a second MA and apply the template
Does the test template that you created work as expected or does it result in the error?

I look forward to your response.

          Hi Zachary,

          I can't do this step :
          • Reconnect to your data provider from the 'Connections' menu
Once in safe mode, my data provider access disappeared. It's an icon usually located on the menu bar, next to NEW.

            Hello Nicholas,

            Thank you for your reply.

            All you have to do is go to the 'Connections' menu and select the name of your provider while you have the platform open in Safe Mode. The 'Connections' menu will appears as a bit of text that says 'Connections' or it will look like an AC power plug icon if you have the Control Center minimized to a certain size. This is true for every NinjaTrader 8 user. I've included a video to demonstrate at the link below;

              Hi Zachary,

About the connection, my data provider is not located in the «connection» section but it appears as an icon in the menu bar, see screenshot attached,

In the meantime, i've managed to find out which update add on was causing the issue and talked to the dev who is not willing to fix the issue.

So all good, this is not an issue from NT8 but from the 3rd party provider.

Thank you anyways for all your help.

              Nicolas
