How do i pay futures commission fees?
Hi, sorry for asking stupid question. I'm new to ninjatrader, I'm planning to purchase the lifetime "Own" license and connect it with Interactive Brokers. I realized Ninjatrader charged $1.99 for each E-mini S&P 500 Futures contract, I'm completely ok with that. However, the website didn't mention how Ninjatrader is going to charge those futures commission fees. I assume that Ninjatrader can't directly charge from my Interactive Brokers account, so I want to know which method am I going to use to pay for those future commission fee which is charged by Ninjatrader.
Thank you.Last edited by sosotro167; 01-08-2022, 06:31 AM.Tags: None

There are two 'NinjaTrader' companies at play here,
NinjaTrader, LLC writes and maintains the platform charting software.
NinjaTrader Brokerage is their brokerage company.
If you have an account at NinjaTrader Brokerage (which is not strictly
necessary) and you trade futures in that account using the NinjaTrader
software, then the futures commissions may be discounted, but that
discount is based upon the nature of your NinjaTrader software license.
The fees and commissions you've seen on various web pages only come
into play if you have a NinjaTrader Brokerage account.

Brokerage, which I'll shorten to NTB below.
[You were probably reading the marketing and sales fluff for NTB.
Obviously, the main pool of humans who may become new NTB
customers is the current pool of humans who use the NinjaTrader
software. So, over time, the NTB mktg & sales fluff has become
a standard part of the NT website -- you'll have to decipher from
context whether the solo term 'NinjaTrader' is referring to the
brokerage or to the software -- usually the context is clear.]
The point was: those (potentially discounted) futures commissions
fees would be deducted from your NTB account, but only if you
have an NTB account and traded futures with that NTB account.
If you don't have an NTB account, well, that mktg & sales info,
esp the stuff about fees and commissions, would not apply to you.
For ex, if you have an IB account and trade futures with it, then it
will be IB's responsibility to deduct those fees from your IB account,
NinjaTrader Brokerage is simply not involved in that scenario.
Fees and commissions are function of your broker, whom ever that
happens to be.Last edited by bltdavid; 01-08-2022, 10:49 AM.

Hello sosotro167,
While bltdavid already replied (quite correctly, thank you for that!) I just wanted to follow up and let you know that, should you have any further questions in this regard, you're always welcome to reach out to us directly at platformsupport(at)ninjatrader(dot)com.
While our Brokerage Team does not frequent our Platform-focused forums, we are always happy to forward any questions you have regarding NinjaTrader-based accounts to them or assist you with any Platform-related questions!Manfred F.NinjaTrader Customer Service
