    Coinbase Live Data Stops Work

    Hello, my NinjaTrader installation was working with coinbase connector and everything was fine, but now the live data feed stops. In the same instrument there is data for the T&S, but no data for the charts and indicators. Firstly I use other connection and try different instruments, and everything works good, but when I switch to coinbase the charts are freezing again.Can you help me with a solution?

    Which specific Instruments are you trying to view live data for on your charts using the Coinbase connection? Just to confirm, are you seeing live data for these instruments in the T&S window, but just not in the charts, yes?

      Yes, I am seeing live data for BTCUSD in the T&S window, but just not in the charts.
      I'm using MZPack3 Footprint.

      I wrote to the support of MZpack. They did a test with Ninja's Volumetric bars and the result was the same. I am sending a screenshot with the two indicators - Ninja's Volumetric bars and MZpack Footprint.

      In a test with Bitmex connector, the live data feed works fine.

        Thank you for your response.


        Here are the Safe Mode steps that you may do to confirm that your platform and charts are working without any add-ons for BTCUSD.

        Safe Mode will prevent NinjaTrader from:
        • Loading workspaces and connecting on start-up.
        • Loading custom assemblies (i.e. 3rd-party add-ons and NinjaScripts)
        • Getting instrument updates from the server
        To enable Safe Mode, please use the following steps:
        • Shut down NinjaTrader.
        • Hold the CTRL key and double-click the NinjaTrader icon.
        • Keep holding the CTRL key until you see the Control Center.
        • You may then verify you are in Safe Mode by going to Help -> About.

        Once you have opened the platform in Safe Mode:
        • Reconnect to your Data Provider
        • Please open a new chart with no custom bar types/indicators/templates and test for issues

        Does the behavior persist on this blank Workspace in Safe Mode?
        • If not, please try opening your previous workspace by going to the Control Center > Workspaces drop-down. It may already show as being open. Hit 'close' and do not save and then re-open it again for your windows to re-appear. You will notice that no 3rd-party add-ons are running in Safe Mode.

        Does the behavior return on your regular Workspace in Safe Mode?
        • If not, restart NinjaTrader, and test for the behavior on your Workspace normally once more with your 3rd-party add-ons available. If this reintroduces issues, I suggest rebuilding your workspace, adding 1 add-on at a time.
        • Please keep track of what add-ons you add back in to identify the cause of the behavior if it returns.

        If it does not return, it indicates the error was isolated only to your other Workspace. I also suggest making a backup of your workspace so we can restore a working version of it if the issue returns. You will want to keep this backup file on an external hard drive or uploaded to a cloud drive such as Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive.

        To create a backup, go to the Control Center > Tools > Export > Backup File. Additional information about backups may be read in our Help Guide linked below.

        Please let me know the results of this test. I look forward to your response.

          When I start the MZpack 3 Footprint indicator, values for historical data only are calculated and displayed on the chart and on the indicator. In real time price candles are visualized and changed, but real-time calculations freeze. (You can see the attached picture.)

            If everything is working in Safe Mode, it verifies that the platform itself is working well. Since you are only experiencing this behavior using that 3rd-party bar type, you will want to reach out to the developer directly for assistance since we are not able to troubleshoot add-ons that we do not develop ourselves.

              Hello Justin,

              As I wrote to you before, the problem also exists with the Ninja trading indicator Ninja's Volumetric. Please see the attached screenshot. The data about the last cluster is missing on two indicators - Ninja's Volumetric and MZpack 3 Footprint.

                Just to confirm, is this happening with Volumetric Bars in Safe Mode on your regular workspace or on a separate workspace with a chart using Volumetric Bars and no other indicators?

                  Hello Justin,

                  I do not have Ninja's Volumetric indicator installed. The screenshot was made by the support of MZpack.
                  As can be seen from the screenshot, the two indicators work in a common workplace.

                  Maybe I should send a request to the MZpack support for a new test?

                    If MZPack is experiencing problems with the built-in indicators, they are welcome to reach out to our Platform Support or Vendor Support teams directly, but we are not able to troubleshoot their add-ons ourselves through your or another client.

                    I have tested and confirmed that the built-in Volumetric Bars are working with BTCUSD from Coinbase on my own platform although it does seem to use a lot of memory to calculate due to the high volume of the instrument. Regardless, the Live Data is printing correctly on my chart though. I cannot speak for how the MZPack indicators work with this live data though. That would have to be worked out with them directly.
