    Playback connection is not working

    Hello,
I am a new user of Ninja Trader. I was trying to get the playback working with end of the day historical data. It does not seem to be working for me for some reason.
    This is what I did:
    • Connected to KineTick end of day
    • downloaded data for 365 days of an instrument using tools>Historical Data
    • disconnected from KineTick
    • Connected to playback connection
    • Playback window appeared.
    • Selected historical data
    • Confirmed that the historical data is available by right clicking and showing historical data.
But am not able to select start and end dates for playback. My expectation is that I should be able to select dates within the 365 day range for which I have the data.
    Am I missing something here.
One thing I noticed is that the date on the playback window's header is a date from 2099. I am wondering whether this has anything to do with the issue. Couple of screenshots of the playback window I have seen in help files/posts does seem to show the correct system time. My system time is correct.
    System OS: Windows 11.
    NT8.0.25

    Hello mobsin ,

Thank you very much for your post.

Historical daily data would only contain 5 values per day (open, high, low, close, volume). This means that across the 365 days, the platform would only know at which value the candle opened and closed, and what high or low it reached during this day, but not when this occurred. As such, daily candles would not suffice for historical playback.

If you do not have a provider for historical data with a smaller granularity, my suggestion would be to use NinjaTrader's market replay feature instead.

NinjaTrader offers 3 months of tick-based market replay data for the most commonly traded instruments, free of charge.

To download this, please please switch to the "Load" tab and download the data for any instrument you're interested in. As this data can reach a relatively large size you would have to download each day individually. However, you may download as many days and instruments as desired.

Once downloaded, please switch the playback controller to "Market Replay", you will then have access to tick-based data in the best possible granularity for replays.

Should you have any further questions in this regard, please don't hesitate to let us know!
