    NT8 freezes while entering limit order on the dynamic DOM

    Hello,

    i am using NT 8.0.25.0 on Win10 64Bit and am experiencing random freezes of the whole platform while clicking in the dynamic DOM to enter a limit order.
    After NT freezing i have to kill it via the Windows Task Manager and start it again.

    I use IB API Gateway to send my orders to IB. The dynamic DOM is used to trade stocks i also use the static DOM to trade futures. No problems there.
    I can not reliably reproduce the issue. Today it happend twice so far. Yesterday nothing. Monday it happend once.

    Before i upgraded from 8.0.24.3 i never had this problem.
    API Gateway 981.3c
    Stock data is from IB, Futures data from NT Brokerage via CQG/Ninjatrader Continuum.

    What should i do?

    Thank you for your message.


    Let's try testing your platform in Safe Mode to verify if this behavior is being caused by a 3rd-party add-on or is isolated to your workspace using the steps below.

    Safe Mode will prevent NinjaTrader from:
    • Loading workspaces and connecting on start-up.
    • Loading custom assemblies (i.e. 3rd-party add-ons and NinjaScripts)
    • Getting instrument updates from the server

    To enable Safe Mode, please use the following steps:
    • Shut down NinjaTrader.
    • Hold the CTRL key and double-click the NinjaTrader icon.
    • Keep holding the CTRL key until you see the Control Center.
    • You may then verify you are in Safe Mode by going to Help -> About.

    Once you have opened the platform in Safe Mode:
    • Reconnect to your Data Provider
    • Please open a new chart with no custom bar types/indicators/templates and test for issues. Test for the crashing when using a SuperDOM as well.

    Does the behavior persist on this blank Workspace in Safe Mode?
    • If not, please try opening your previous workspace by going to the Control Center > Workspaces drop-down. It may already show as being open. Hit 'close' and do not save and then re-open it again for your windows to re-appear. You will notice that no 3rd-party add-ons are running in Safe Mode (if applicable).

    Does the behavior return on your regular Workspace in Safe Mode?

        Hello, the problem persists without custom indicators. I tried safe mode for a day and had no problems. Then i switched back to my normal workspace, but removed all custom indicators on my Dynamic DOMs. Only Indi i kept is "Current day o/h/l" which is a NT8 builtin indicator. Several days no problems. Today 2 freezes.

          Follow the steps below to manually attach your log and trace files to your response so I may investigate this matter further.
          • Open your NinjaTrader folder under Documents.
          • Right-click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
          • Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to this email.
          • Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.
