    Snap Mode

    Hi,

The Snap Mode on my charts seem to have been disabled. How do I re-enable them again?

    Regards
    Kay Wai

    Hello Kay Wai,

    Thank you for your post.

You may access the Snap Mode settings by selecting the 'Drawing Tool' icon on your Chart Toolbar (the little pencil icon), selecting Snap Mode from the menu that appears and choosing your preferred option. You have the choice of Bar, Price, and Bar & Price.

    More information about Snap Mode may be found at the link below;

        Hello Kay Wai,

        Thank you for your reply.

Perhaps a third party add-on is making it so that you cannot select the options from the menu, since there is not a setting in NinjaTrader that would normally grey this out. Do you experience the same on a brand new chart in Safe Mode?
So we can verify that it is not a third party add-on causing NinjaTrader to not work as expected, could you please start the platform in Safe Mode?

Safe Mode will prevent NinjaTrader from:
        • Loading workspaces.
        • Connecting on start-up.
        • Loading custom assemblies.
        • Getting instrument updates from the server.
To enable safe mode, please use the following steps:
        • Exit NinjaTrader.
        • Hold the CONTROL key and double click the NinjaTrader icon.
        • Keep the CONTROL key held down until you see the Control Center.
        • You can verify you are in safe mode by going to Help -> About.
Once you have opened the platform in safe mode:
        • Reconnect to your data provider from the 'Connections' menu
        • Please open a new chart with no custom bar types/indicators/templates and test for issues.
          • Please note this will not delete your workspace however the new blank workspace will be named Untitled. If you have a workspace already named "Untitled," however, you will not want to save the workspace when exiting NinjaTrader, otherwise, it will overwrite it.
Does the chart would as expected in Safe Mode?

          Hi Zachary,

I have the same indicators running on other charts. It's the options charts that are having this issue. And this is not the first time I'm running these charts. They've been there for over a month.

          Regards
          Kay Wai

            Hello Kay Wai,

            Thank you for your reply.

Regardless, I would like you to perform the test that I requested to determine if the problem occurs without your saved workspace.

I look forward to your response.

Will try it tomorrow morning. I can't try it now as it would cause larger issues with the option charts i'm running.

              Update:
I just restarted NT8 after market. The Snap Mode is no longer greyed and i have made no changes to the charts.

How do you set snap mode globally to default "disabled" for all charts?

                  Hello Joseph Connors,

                  Thanks for your note.

The Snap Mode option is set to 'Bar' by default and there are no options available that allow changing Snap Mode 'Default' globally on all charts.

You would need to manually change the Snap Mode on all charts to 'Defaut'.

Please let us know if we may assist further.
