Lagging indicator by 1 bar

Hi all, I just installed NinjaTrader and set-up a chart. When I compared it to my TradingView chart I noticed the indicators are not painting in real time on the current bar but are one bar behind. I have no clue how to solve this. Must be a simple thing I bet. Please let me know.

Welcome to the NinjaTrader forums!

By default, indicators are set to only update "on bar close". This would then trigger an update each time a bar closes but would result in it not drawing on the current candle.

To change this behavior, please right-click the chart and select "Indicators", before changing the calculation method:



On bar close - This will only update the indicator as the bar closes
On each tick - This will update the indicator most often (each tick), and should only be used if necessary
On price change - This would be my suggested setting, as it causes the indicator to calculate each time the current price changes, resulting in an indicator that is always up-to-date.
