Data on startup

Does anyone have this issue when restarting NT8? The large high and low affects my indicators. Reloading All Historical Data does not correct the bar. It's clearly wrong but then shows the bar correctly the next day.

Thank you for your inquiry.

Perhaps a bad tick is stuck in the cache. I'd recommend trying to clear your cache and minute data, and loading it fresh from the server.

To delete the cache, follow the steps below.

• Shut down NinjaTrader.
• Open the Documents > NinjaTrader 8 > db folder.
• Delete the sub-folder named 'cache'.
• Delete the sub-folder named 'minute'.
• Restart NinjaTrader and test.

If this does not correct the issue, please let me know and we can investigate further.

I have 2 years of historical tick data that I use to backtest. If I only delete the minute sub-folder, can a 2 year minute chart rebuild itself and the minute sub-folder from my existing 2 years of historical tick by tick data in the tick sub-folder?

Thank you for your reply.

These steps will not affect the tick data, just the minute data and most providers do support at least 2 years worth of minute data from their server (barring some that are more restrictive with data, like Interactive Brokers). It may take a while to load initially since it is being pulled from the server rather than the information saved on your PC.

If you are worried about losing minute data and not being able to get it back, you could simply move the existing minute sub-folder to your desktop temporarily to complete the test.
