Doji Alert

I'm trying to create a doji alert. It's triggering intrabar. I think what's happening is that the alert is checking on each tick instead of at bar completion. Could you please take a look and tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Hello sgordet,

Unfortunately this is as expected. Alerts trigger in realtime, not at the completion of a price bar. The alert will trigger as soon as the last traded price (Close) is equal to the Open of the price bar.

If you enter a value of 1 for 'Bars ago' on both sides, does it trigger the alert as you like?

Either check if Close[1] == Open[1] on the first tick of bar or set your indicator to calculate on bar close. Either will work.

Jason, the " bars ago" worked.

For one bar candlestick patterns, I set the "bars ago" to one on both sides of the comparison, e.g., dojo and marabozo, For two bar patterns, I set the bars to one and two bars ago as appropriate, e.g., engulfing pattern. I was also able to use this methodology to set alerts for some other bar patterns I wanted to follow.

Hi, can someone code doji indicator that would show only doji that has long tail open and close are the same and very short nose on the top of the candle for bullish doji and vice virsa condition for bearish doji ? Thanks
