    NT 8.0.24.3 only runs in the background

    My installation seems to do nothing on startup but when I check the task manager it shows that it is running as a background process.

    Thank you for the message.

    Is this a brand new installation of NinjaTrader on a computer that has never had NinjaTrader on it before, or did you already have NinjaTrader installed and it is no longer opening like normal?

    Begin by restarting the computer and then trying to open NinjaTrader again.

    If it is still not opening, reopen the Task Manager, click on NinjaTrader, and then End Task

    Now, hold the Ctrl key down on your keyboard and keep it held down while you click to open NinjaTrader.
    • Keep Ctrl held down for 20 seconds or until you see the NinjaTrader Splash screen say "Safe Mode"
    • Did the NinjaTrader Platform open?
    • If the platform opened, close the platform and try opening it like normal again
    If the platform is still not opening, ensure that NinjaTrader has been allowed through the Windows Firewall on all networks. Please follow along with this infographic:
    Also, ensure that NinjaTrader has been added to any 'Exceptions' or 'Allowed Programs/Apps' kind of list within your antivirus software.
    • If you need to add NinjaTrader manually, the file path is as follows:
    • This PC > Local Disk (C > Program Files (x86) > NinjaTrader 8 > bin64 > NinjaTrader.exe
    • If you are unsure of how to do this, what antivirus software is on your computer?
    Try to open NinjaTrader again.

    If you are still unable to open the NinjaTrader platform after following the steps above, please use the following steps to send your Log and Trace files directly to our Platform Support team so we may look into what is stopping the NinjaTrader platform from opening on your computer specifically.
    • Open Windows File Explorer (hotkey = Windows key + E) Then navigate to, "Documents" (sometimes called, "My Documents") > 'NinjaTrader 8' folder or "NinjaTrader 7' folder
    • Right-click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
    • Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to PlatformSupport[AT]NinjaTrader[DOT]com with the respective @ and .
    • Include Clayton ATTN 3300830 within the "Subject" line
