Volume footprint chart with data feed from FXCM trial

Hi!

I signed up for a free month of data feed with FXCM, and connected with NT8.

When I open a chart with a volume footprint indicator, there is only volume shown on the
bid side of the footprint, not the ask side.

Does FXCM trial not provide ASK/BID volume in their data feed?

Hello hunterll,

Please note that forex instruments do not use a last traded price, only a bid and ask price. The last traded price is the same as the bid price with forex in NInjaTrader. I suspect this volume footprint indicator uses the last traded price to plot volume which would clarify why only the bid side is plotted.

but when i used volumetric , same result

Can you please contact the vendor of this indicator regarding the issue. I'm not sure how this indicator functions or how it needs to be configured. The vendor created the indicator and would be the best party to address any issues with it.

Volumetric bars are not supported on forex data. See the link below.

Forex spot data charting is traditionally driven from the bid side only, since no 'true' last exists. Provided values would not represent a centralized auction based market as with stocks or futures - as such Order Flow Volumetric Bars would not be supported
