    Unable to open Ninja Trader 8 after installation: unable to find specified file

    Hi,

    I'm unable to open Ninja Trader 8 ( latest version as of 05-Aug-2021) after installing it from the official website. Screenshot of errors attached. I did not select any custom scripts and did not select free live data either. Just want to install the basic free version for education purposes.

    I tried workarounds suggested in this forum - renaming the 'Ninja Trader 8' folder to 'Ninja Trader 8OLD' in Documents. But after doing this i was unable to uninstall/reinstall as suggested in the proposed workaround.

    Kindly please help me with this.

    Thank you for your note.

    If you are unable to open NinjaTrader due to this, navigate to Documents\NinjaTrader 8\workspaces and delete the file named _Workspaces.xml, then try opening NinjaTrader.

      Thanks for your prompt reply. Unfortunately i dont see that file in that location, no hidden files either. screenshot attached.

        Thank you for the reply.

        Is the platform able to be launched in Safe Mode?

        To enable safe mode, please use the following steps:
        • Exit NinjaTrader.
        • Hold the CONTROL key and double click the NinjaTrader icon.
        • Keep the CONTROL key held down until you see the Control Center.
        • You can verify you are in safe mode by going to Help -> About.

          Thanks a lot, Chris. I can open the app now in safe mode. Hope running the app in safe mode will not compromise on any features.
