    NT8 Lifetime Licence

Hi guys, I'm looking to purchase an NT8 lifetime licence however I notice it asks you to select your broker on the purchase screen, does this mean that you cannot use a different broker with that licence if you decide to change broker ? e.g. I'm currently with FXCM and so if I select FXCM as my broker when purchasing a lifetime licence does that mean that I cannot switch broker and use any other broker through NT8 without buying another licence ?

    Hello JackK,

You can switch your license key to a different broker technology. If you like to do so, please send us an email at "platformsales[at]ninjatrader[dot]com".

okay so for example if I'm trading with FXCM through ninjatrader and then I want to switch broker to OANDA then do I need to purchase a new licence or can I switch broker and still trade through ninjatrader using my original licence ?

There is no need to purchase a new license key when you like to switch broker technologies of your current license key.

The Lifetime NinjaTrader license actually comes in two forms,

          Single-Broker
          Multi-Broker

what they really mean by 'broker' is 'broker technology'. (Each
'broker technology' is represented by a software 'adapter', which
is really just a DLL, so you'll see that term thrown around, too)

          What's the difference?
If you purchase a Single-Broker license -- they keep track of
that on their license servers -- it means your NinjaTrader.exe
knows it can only connect to one broker technology, which is
the one on file for your license.

It doesn't matter which one, but you have to choose something,
so it makes sense to set that up when you purchase your license.

If you wanted the freedom to create a Connection using any
of the available broker technologies, and connect to them all
simultaneously, you would purchase a Multi-Broker license.

Using a Single Broker license means you are limited to a single
broker technology for your Connections. If you wish to change
that to a different broker technology, just contact NT and they'll
update the license server -- after which you must exit NT and
restart it, so your NinjaTrader.exe can see the change.

          Inside the Control Center ...
When creating a new Connection, a Multi-Broker license shows
you all available adapters -- you pick the one you want and you
set it up. A Single Broker license means your NinjaTrader.exe
only shows the single adapter that is on file for your license --
to change that adapter, like they said, send them an email.
